Park Yoon-ho breaks the mold in his latest role.
In the Netflix series "Trigger" (written by Kwon Oh-seung, directed by Kwon Oh-seung and Kim Jae-hoon), Park takes on the role of Park Kyu-jin, a vulnerable high school student subjected to relentless school bullying.
Kyu-jin is a character worn down by the senseless violence of his classmates and overwhelmed by feelings of helplessness. Yet he moves viewers by offering heartfelt comfort and advice to his only friend, Young-dong (played by Son Bo-seung), who is also a victim of school violence.
As the central figure in an episode carrying a powerful message, Park Yoon-ho heightens the drama’s tension. Through his delicate portrayal of Kyu-jin’s resolve to protect himself amid the cycle of abuse, he strengthens the character’s authenticity. His nuanced depiction of pain, unstable mental states, and complex emotions draws audiences deeper into the story.
Previously, Park demonstrated solid acting skills in works such as "Our Unwritten Seoul", "Someday Wise Intern Life", and "Study Group". With "Trigger", he proves his expanded acting range, further cementing his status as a promising next-generation talent.
Upon release, "Trigger" debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s “Top 10 TV Shows in South Korea” and, within just three days, reached No. 4 on the “Global Top 10 TV Shows (Non-English)” list, garnering enthusiastic responses from viewers worldwide.
